ABOUT CODE
The Campaign On Digital Ethics (CODE) is a South African non-profit, civil society organisation dedicated to advocating for a digital world where technology supports and enhances human rights, equity, and democratic engagement. We want digital platforms to operate transparently, uphold privacy, and be free of harmful biases; where regulations protect individuals from digital harms; and where every person, regardless of background, has the skills and access to use digital technologies safely and effectively.

At CODE, our mission is to build a digital future that upholds democracy and human rights for generations to come.

Objectives

Training and capacitation: conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions to educate the public about the digital world and foster responsible digital citizenship.

Research and insights: produce comprehensive research and generate valuable insights on digital rights, ethics, and the impact that emerging technologies has on society.

Advocacy and partnerships: advocate for digital rights and ethics by actively engaging in policy advocacy to influence and shape legislative and regulatory frameworks. Additionally, CODE will form strategic partnerships with civil society organisations, policymakers, the media, and technology companies to enhance its impact and drive meaningful change.
